In the third quarter of 2024, the Middle East's top social networking applications exhibited diverse performance metrics on the unified platform. According to Sensor Tower data, Threads by Instagram, Inc. saw a significant increase in weekly downloads, starting from around 146K at the beginning of July to approximately 222K by the end of September. Despite this growth, weekly active users showed a slight decline in July but rebounded to around 1.6M by the end of the quarter.

Telegram Messenger from Telegram FZ-LLC maintained its dominance in active user engagement, with figures peaking at nearly 16.6M by the end of September. The app also experienced a steady increase in weekly revenue, reaching about $160K at the quarter's close. Downloads peaked at over 306K in late August, though they tapered off slightly towards the end of September.

WhatsApp Messenger remained a staple with consistent weekly active users, rising steadily to approximately 38.9M by the end of September. Weekly downloads fluctuated, peaking at around 256K in mid-August before stabilizing at about 204K in the final week of the quarter.

Facebook by Meta Platforms, Inc. showed moderate growth in weekly revenue, culminating in roughly $86K by the end of September. Downloads saw a slight decline over the quarter, ending at around 234K, while active users remained relatively stable, hovering around 33.7M throughout the period.

Lastly, Google Meet experienced steady growth in weekly downloads, peaking at approximately 55K in late September. Active users fluctuated slightly, ending the quarter at about 2.5M.
